Push-on vs. Push-in Fittings: Key Features
The fundamental difference between push-in and push-on fittings lies in the connection method and the presence or absence of a seal. Push-in fittings allow tubes and hoses to be connected simply by pushing them into the fitting, which is ideal for pneumatic systems requiring quick and secure connection and disconnection. A soft seal prevents leaks. Push-on fittings, on the other hand, allow the tube or hose to be connected by pushing it over a specially designed barb and then tightening a ring. The seal is mechanical. They are particularly suitable for environments with vibrations or extreme temperature conditions.
